A soap opera between the covers, Twisted Webs by Darlene Quinn is a page-turner that I found myself unable to put down after just a few pages. How far would you go for someone you loved? Would you steal a newborn child, regardless of the pain that will forever be etched into the hearts of the family who lost her? How many webs must be woven to hide the child from her biological family? In the continuing Webs series, Twisted Webs has the benefit of the foundation already put in place by Webs of P [...]

This book is the follow up to Webs of Power: A Novel which I have not read but think that the back story is explained enough without having to read the previous bookBecause I had not read anything by Darlene Quinn before when I came across Twisted Webs the description made me curious to read it, I wanted to see how the author would have her characters handle not only the kidnapping of their infant twin daughter but all the other changes in their lives as well This story is compelling, full of te [...]

Ashleigh Taylor was introduced in the previous book about the department super powers and their fall to leveraged buy outs. Twisted Webs takes a step back from the corporate world and looks more into the personal lives of the characters. Ashleigh has twins - but one is stolen from the cradle in the hospital days after they are born. As the hunt for the missing twin begins - we follow the lives of both sides throughout the entire story. Some favorite characters are brought back and the small worl [...]

Twisted Webs is one of "those books". . . a memorable book that is so powerfully imbedded in your mind it seeps into your daily life. A co-worker or a friend's action easily reminds you of a particularly enjoyable chapter of this mesmerizing book. Darlene Quinn's Twisted Webs, the second book in her Webs Series creates powerful and gripping memories that will be difficult to escape. Darlene Quinn nailed down the characters in Twisted Webs so definitively you feel you know them intimately. You're [...]

I was given a copy of this book from the publishers via NetGalley, in return for an honest review."Twisted Webs" is supposedly a novel about a set of twins, one of which is kidnapped just hours after their birth. This was a long book, and not just the 465 pages. I could typically read a book of this length within 4 days, a week tops. But this one took me a month. I just couldn't get into the story. Not the advertised story, I was very into that, but it wasn't really about the twins. By the time [...]

I had absolutely no idea that this was a sequel until someone recently told me. It is a standalone book to me and you do not need to read the first book. I didn’t and haven’t. The main focus of the book is the abduction of a twin baby girl from the hospital right after her birth. It focuses on the lives of all of the characters and how the abduction affects their lives.Loved the action and “twists” but I did feel the ending was a bit trite. That said, I would still recommend it. The book [...]

When you read one of Ms. Quinn's Webs series, you meet a family, much like any other family. This family has good days and bad days, good relations and not-so-good relations, employment problems and family interactions. . The corporate world is represented by the large department store conglomerates as they jockey for customers and power. Twisted Webs continues with this sagaThe real essence of this latest offering is family. We learn how the twins found each other, how they cope, and how resili [...]

There couldn’t be a better title for this book. There were a whole lot of twists and turns in the story and it held my attention from first page to last. I don’t know of many people with the wisdom of Ashleigh, particularly when faced with decisions about the future of her kidnapped, then found, twin daughter. Her inclusion of Erica’s family into her own is enviable. We will miss Charles, just as we look forward to what kind of mess Mitchell will be stirring up next. Quinn is unmatched in [...]

*** I was granted this book to read by Greenleaf Book Group via Net Galley***I am so glad I had this book to read. I knew someone who had already read this and highly recommended it. She was not wrong.Right at the opening page it draws you into a saga of the stolen/missing baby. It really is a page turner, I've been reading this today in one sitting. I couldn't leave it alone. I wanted to get right into why this baby was taken. A twin. How it affects each family member, and what about the baby t [...]

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own. I really enjoyed this book, much better then the novel before it, "Webs of Power." This one did have some business in it, but not as much and there was a lot more focus on the relationships. The idea of a baby being kidnapped from a hospital room is a terrifying one. To me it felt like the mother's reaction was a mild one. Even if it was twins and I still had one left, I would be manic trying to find my chi [...]

I definitely enjoyed this second book in the series much more than the first. I love the drama of the extended families/friends and seeing how characters lives intertwine whether through good or bad. I couldn't wait to see how things would turn out and found myself rooting the underdog as much as the heroine in the story. While these books contain strong men, I LOVE that they are centered on strong willed, independent women! A great read.

Twisted Webs has been gripping, artfully written and energetic, sorrowful and mean at times. Still, the incandescent search for humanity in every relation it draws the participator towards keeps it alive within goodness at all times. The ending was actually unexpected and yet the hidden message one which the heart constantly seeks.

i haven't read the first book, but will do so as soon as possibleis book is a sweeping saga of a couple of families and some other people, tied together, plotting against each others, with paths intersecting over and over. it's reminiscent of the Barbara Taylor Bradford books and I greatly enjoyed it.

"What doesn't kill us makes us strong"How would you cope if one of your identical twins was removed from the hospital at birth and appeared to disappear off the face of the earth? And, if you were reunited eight years later, how would you respond to the woman who had raised her - should the child be wrenched from all that she holds dear, to return to her birth parents? These are the questions raised by Darlene Quinn in book 2 of the Webs Series. There is a bit of a cast of thousands and I did even [...]

Web of Power has laid the foundation for this book. Ashley Taylor, a stunning and beautiful woman, had given birth to twins. When one of the twins is stolen from her crib before they even leave the hospital, Ashley vows to never give up on finding her daughter. Eight years have passed and they have still not found Cassie. How can no one know where she is? The suspense that is in each chapter as other situations with the other characters evolve, along with finding who took Cassie is brilliantly d [...]

Twisted Webs: Darlene QuinnI didn't realize this was a sequel until others were discussing the big department stores, designer fashions and leveraged buy outs. I was hooked on the plot of one of the babies, identical twins was snatched the day she was born. There were some interesting twists and a red herring or two could be found. It kept me interested, but the ending was just too contrived. The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Others have criticized Karin Allers wor [...]

This is book two of Darlene Quinn’s Webs series, and I definitely liked this book better than the first book. I’m not entirely sure why I liked this book more than first, maybe it was that it was set in the 1990s or maybe because there was more suspense in this novel than in her prior book, but either way I did like it a bit more. I do have to say that the book was too long in my opinion, the pacing was okay, but there were several points along the way were I stopped to see where I was in th [...]

I won this book through a giveaway- thank you for the signed copy Darlene Quinn! This book was a soap opera on steroids! I really had to pay attention and familiarize myself with all the characters. I read this as a stand alone book- which was fine. I fell in love with Ashleigh Taylor from the get go and even more so at the very end of the book. The end was beautifully written. I still find myself thinking what would I have done in that situation and would I have acted in the way that Ashleigh [...]

i only wished that I had read this novel sooner, as I enjoyed more than I thought I would, especially after realising that it was a sequel. Great storyline with plenty of suspense and the kind of ending that I like.Received via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I read this book because someone in my book club chose it. I typically read books that are more challenging and more thought provoking. This book read like a soap opera complete with deception, "coincidences" and high drama. Thankfully, I could skim it and not feel I was missing anything.
