As a teacher and tutor, I find this paperback title "Rhetorical Devices" to be an indispensable tool in helping my students become better writers. It has also been a great aid for students taking AP English class. This compact book contains chapters devoted to each of the 33 rhetorical devices, with definitions and examples of each as well as practice exercises. The practice exercises range from fairly simple ones requiring students to write sentences reflecting a certain rhetorical device while [...]

The book includes a large set of terms (33 in all). They're broken down individually with definitions, explanations on their use, and then practice activities. The end of the book has a handful of assessments that groups the terms. The book is 224pgs in length. I'm using it with sophomore high school students.

Solid little instructional workbook. I use it as an extension to rhetorical devices lessons. The students find it both challenging and helpful. Through their assessments, I'm finding that it works!
