I love, love, love this book and re-read it regularly! Like C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, it is a children's book that speaks to adults. I have the print book and the movie. I gave this edition only 4 stars because it is advertised as having bonus material, including discussion questions by the author. Disappointingly, it does not have bonus material. I only bought the Kindle version to get the discussion questions, so I didn't get what I wanted.

I ordered many copies of this book about 8 years ago and gave them to friends and family. I received positive feedback from everyone including my 60 something husband and my 20-y.o. daughter. I also bought the cd audio book. I just bought another copy for a friend to read. Even though the book is probably written for a pre-teen reader, it is very appropriate for adults and older readers. I find this book to be inspiring especially at the end which is a bit of a surprise.

Hard for me to get kids into this book. They are still stuck at the beginning. But may be a good conversation for kids book club

Love it! A must read for everyone, but then you must rent the movie after. It is well done too, but just not as thorough as the book.

I love this movie! I love this little boy!I bought the DVD first and then the book. I truly enjoyed both. The actor, Alex Etel, has grown into a teenager, but he will remain that sweet little boy forever on the DVD. You will smile and have tears both as you watch the film. When you read the book it is so easy to visualize the characters. I cared about these people and wanted them to do well. You will too. And if you want to feel good when a movie is over, buy the DVD too.
